Michael M's Box
Micheal M's Box is a true masterpiece, boasting several distinctive features that set it apart. Its dimensional design was modeled after the iconic box for the Illumini Spirit Light, paying homage to its elegant proportions. The box itself is crafted from the rich, vibrant Padauk, renowned for its striking grain patterns and warm, reddish-brown hue.
What truly distinguishes Micheal M's Box, however, is its exquisite finish. A meticulous, multi-step process was employed to achieve a depth and luster that is nothing short of breathtaking. The process began with a generous application of hand-rubbed oil, carefully worked into the wood to accentuate its natural beauty. Next, the box was buffed using a three-compound method, using the Studio's 100+ year old electric buffer to impart a beautiful sheen.
The final stage of the process involved applying a hard, protective coating of carnauba wax, which was then painstakingly hand-polished to a brilliant gloss. The result is a finish that is at once understated and opulent, inviting the eye to linger on its subtle nuances. Aged brass hardware adds a touch of refined elegance, while the interior of the box is lavishly lined with the traditional Mooreni Black Velvet, providing a sumptuous backdrop for any treasures held within.
